Population Education

"Population Education is an educational programme which helps in developing awareness and understanding of population situation as well as a rationale attitude and behavior toward those situations for the attainment of quality of life of the individual, the family, and the community, the nation and the world". From this definition it is clear that population education process which gives knowledge about how to live a prosperous life in a family, Community, country. Similarly, it provides knowledge about the effects of population growth through one solid programme. Besides, it helps individual and a country to take rational and responsible decisions concerning population related matters.
Education plays a vital role to bring changes in a country. IF population education is offered at the school level, it will be a great help in controlling the growth of population. For this, it is necessary to know "what is population education?" People do not have same type of concepts about population education. Some take it as another name of family planning because population education deals with the family planning and contraceptive for family planning. But the nature and objectives of population education is entirely different from family planning. Besides, there are some people, who think it as sex education because it contains subjects of human sexuality, birth, sex and sexual behavior etc. In the same way, some people define this as demography because it contains components. Process and measures of mathematical and statistical studies of population.

Importance and Need of Health Education

Everybody wants to live being healthy. We should always try to acquire good health. Sometimes, people have to loose their lives due to minor mistakes knowingly. We have often heard that people have to live like a burden to their family and society because of illness. Therefore, it is very essential that people have to be conscious about their health. But most of the people may not have the knowledge of the basic principles of being healthy. Health education teaches various ways of staying healthy. We may sometime see our neighbors doing unhealthy practices knowingly or unknowingly. Health education helps to bring changes in their behavior by providing right guidelines and changing their views. So, we will be able to improve our bad habit and attain good health and by changing such behavior and we will be able to live healthy life. We could have overcome these problems if we could have been little cautious, but because of lack of knowledge, bad traditional practices, and mere beliefs, we invite all those diseases. Most of the people have learnt that the diseases are not caused by the curse of the gods and goddess rather thy can be cared by taking medicine in time. Health education teaches people about the preventive measures to over-come those diseases, and be safe even if one is suffered from diseases. So, health education has become very essential as it teaches people to attain healthy life by imparting knowledge, skill, and attitude on health related matters.

Health Education

According to World Health Organization (WHO, 1948),"Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of diesease".The above definition emphasizes the importance of well-being of people in physical, mental and social states besides being free from disease and infirmity. Physical health deals with physical development and physical fitness. Therefore, it is very important for a healthy person to keep balance between the development of all parts of body and physiological functions. Mental health deals with healthy thinking and intellectual development. People with healthy brain will be able to take right decision at right moments by healthy thinking. Social health depends on the behavior of people in the society. The symbols of social health are friendliness, cooperation, good manner, leadership and ability to keep good relationship with other. This definition has mentioned about the state of optimum health condition. The state of our health is dynamic in nature, so, the fluctuation in human health is normal. Our effort should always be directed to achieve the optimum level of health. In fact, being healthy is something which makes people to be productive socially and economically and able to attain quality of life.

Adult Education

Those people who are grown up are called adults. The education given to the adults is called adult education. In some of the developed countries of the world, there is no need of adult education as education is compulsory and everyone is educated. But in developing countries like ours, the majority of the people are uneducated. So there is a need of adult education in such countries. There is a need and importance of adult education. Adults are engaged in productive activities. The development of the country depends upon their activities. If they are not educated, they do not know the problems of the country. They do not have any knowledge of the developmental plans. Uneducated people are exploited. They are conservative. They do not identify the importance of change. They do not know what is happening in the world. It is the duty of the government to provide adult education in the different parts of the country. There are many non-governmental organizations that are also conducting adult classes. There must be co-ordination between the activities of government and such organizations. The classes should focus on making the adults literate. They should also be taught the skills they need to learn to do their day to day function. The village development committee also can start classes. The local schools can play vital role in educating the local people. Adult education is needed to develop the country.

Advantage of Female Education

There are many advantages of female education. Men and women are like the two wheels of the same cart. A cart cannot move on one wheel. Similarly, a nation can not progress if both men and women are not educated. Women look after their children. The mother is the first teacher. An educated mother can support her husband. She can share his work. She can lessen her husband's sorrows. She can support her husband by earning money. An educated woman is well mannered. She is polite and courteous. She keeps her home happy. She is not irritable. She tries to please everybody. She is the life long companion of her husband. Anyway, she is a great help to her husband and family. The group of educated women is a great asset to a nation. The overall progress of the country finally depends upon the joint efforts of both men and women. The people of town have realized the importance and necessity of education. But many people from the villages haven't yet realized its necessity. So the government should pay special attention to educate the women in the villages. Hence, educating women has an important role to play for the development of a nation.

Female Education

The education of women is known as female education. A nation can prosper only with the united efforts of men and women. If both of them are educated, they can work hand in hand for the progress of the nation. It women are not educated; half of the nation's population is uneducated. Hence the country cannot progress with half of uneducated population. In ancient time female education was neglected. People thought that educating girls is useless. They thought that women are just to give birth to baby, look after them and their homes. For such works, education is not necessary. Only the girls from the educated family could get an opportunity of education. This idea has been slowly changed today. Many people have realized the importance of educating girls. The number of girls is increasing day by day in the schools and campuses. However, the village women are still deprived of the opportunity of getting education. In the village many women are still uneducated. Special incentive should be given to encourage the women for education. They should be given scholarships and other facilities of educational materials. The village girls should get special support. The adult classes should also be started for the village adult women. They should be given training on home-science, tailor and household accounts.

Technical Education

Technical education is the education which gives special skills in some subjects. It means theoretical and practical knowledge in using machines and instruments. We not only get the theoretical knowledge about some subjects but also know how to handle the machines to produce various things. Technical education is the reverse of academic education. In academic education, we get only the theoretical knowledge. In ancient time artesian produced things with the help of their hands. They could not produce large quantities of goods. The cost of production was also comparatively higher. But due to the progress of science, artesian can manufacture large quantities of goods. Technical education helps for the progress of the country. A country can prosper in the fields of agriculture, industry, transport and communications and other developmental fields by the help of technical education. Technical education helps the nation to be self-dependent. if we do not have adequate technicians, we have to bring the technicians from other countries and we have to pay a lot of money for them. Technical education solves the problem of unemployment. There is the demand of different kinds of technicians in the field of agriculture, industry, transport and communication, health, engineering etc; technicians can be absorbed in such developmental fields. If such technicians can not get job, they can stand on their own legs. They can undertake their personal works. They do not have to go from door to door for employment.
